Gudi Padwa~गुडी पडवा


फाल्गुन के जाने के पश्चात उल्लासित रूप से चैत्र मास का आगमन होता है। चहुंओर प्रेम का रंग बिखरा होता है। प्रकृति अपने चरम पर होती है। दिन हल्की तपिश के साथ अपने सुनहरे रूप में आता है और रातें छोटी होने के साथ ठंडक का अहसास कराती हैं। मन भी बावरा होकर दुनिया के सौंदर्य में खो जाने को बेताब हो उठता है।

यह अवसर है नवसृजन के नवउत्साह का, जगत को प्रकृति के प्रेमपाश में बंधने का, पौराणिक मान्यताओं को समझने व धार्मिक उद्देश्यों को जानने का। भारतीय संस्कृति का देदीप्यमान उत्सव मनाने का। और ऐसा भी माना जाता है की  इसी दिन चैत्र नवरात्रि का आगमन, परम ब्रह्म द्वारा सृजित सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति हुई थी।

भारतीय संस्कृति में गुड़ी पड़वा को चैत्र मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की प्रतिपदा को विक्रम संवत के नए साल के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इस तिथि से पौराणिक व ऐतिहासिक दोनों प्रकार की ही मान्यताएं जुड़ी हुई हैं।

ब्रह्म पुराण के अनुसार चैत्र प्रतिपदा से ही ब्रह्मा ने सृष्टि की रचना प्रारंभ की थी। इसी तरह के उल्लेख अथर्ववेद और शतपथ ब्राह्मण में भी मिलते हैं। इसी दिन चैत्र नवरात्रि भी प्रारंभ होती हैं।

लोक मान्यता के अनुसार इसी दिन भगवान राम का और फिर युधिष्ठिर का राज्यारोहण किया गया था। इतिहास बताता है कि इस दिन मालवा के नरेश विक्रमादित्य ने शकों को पराजित कर विक्रम संवत का प्रवर्तन किया।

 

नववर्ष की शुरुआत का महत्व :-

नववर्ष को भारत के प्रांतों में अलग-अलग तिथियों के अनुसार मनाया जाता है। ये सभी महत्वपूर्ण तिथियां मार्च और अप्रैल के महीनों में आती हैं। इस नववर्ष को प्रत्येक प्रांतों में अलग-अलग नामों से जाना जाता है। फिर भी पूरा देश चैत्र माह में ही नववर्ष मनाता है और इसे नवसंवत्सर के रूप में जाना जाता है।

गुड़ी पड़वा, होला मोहल्ला, युगादि, विशु, वैशाखी, कश्मीरी, नवरेह, चेटीचंड, उगाड़ी, चित्रेय तिरुविजा आदि सभी की तिथि इस नवसंवत्सर के आसपास आती हैं। इसी दिन से सतयुग की शुरुआत मानी जाती है।

इसी दिन भगवान विष्णु ने मत्स्य अवतार लिया था। इसी दिन से रात्रि की अपेक्षा दिन बड़ा होने लगता है।

 

गुडी पडवा

भारत के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के अनुसार गुडीपडवा के कई नाम हैं।

1. गोवा और केरल के कोंकणवासियों में संवत्सर पडवो मनाया जाता है।

2.कर्नाटक के बाकी कोंकणी प्रवासी इसे युगादी के नाम से जानते हैं।

3. आंध्र प्रदेश और तेलंगाना के लोग उगादि मनाते हैं।

4. कश्मीरी इसे नवरेह कहते हैं।

5. साजिबू नोंग्मा पैन्बा या मीटीई चेराओबा मणिपुर में मनाया जाता है।

6. उत्तर भारतीयों के लिए चैत्र नवरात्रि इसी दिन से शुरू होती है।


इस दिन, मराठों ने गुड़ी फहराई। यही कारण है कि इस उत्सव को गुड़ी पड़वा के नाम से जाना जाता है। गुड़ी को बांस की छड़ी पर चांदी, तांबे या कांसे के ऊपर संशोधित कलश रखकर बनाया जाता है और बांस को एक सुंदर कपड़े पर बनाया जाता है (आमतौर पर, यह केसरिया रंग का होता है और ब्रोकेड बॉर्डर के साथ रेशम से बना होता है)। गुड़ी को तब गस्ती (चीनी कीमती पत्थरों का लॉरेल), नीम के पत्तों, एक आम की टहनी और लाल-फूलों की माला से सजाया जाता है।

गुडी को घर में छत जैसे ऊंचे स्थान पर फहराया जाता है, इस लक्ष्य के साथ कि यह हर किसी के लिए ध्यान देने योग्य है। कई लोग इसे इसी तरह अपनी खिड़कियों या उनके प्रवेश मार्ग के दाईं ओर चिपका देते हैं।

In Indian culture, Gudi Padwa is celebrated as the new year of Vikram Samvat, the Pratipada of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month. Both mythological and historical beliefs are associated with this date.

According to the Brahma Purana, Brahma started the creation of the world from Chaitra Pratipada. Similar mentions are also found in the Atharvaveda and Shatapatha Brahmana. On this day, Chaitra Navratri also begins.

According to popular belief, Lord Rama and then Yudhishthira were enthroned on this day. History tells that on this day the King of Malwa Vikramaditya defeated the Shakas and enforced the Vikram Samvat.

 

Importance of beginning of new year: -

The New Year is celebrated on different dates in the provinces of India. All these important dates fall in the months of March and April. This New Year is known by different names in each of the provinces. Nevertheless, the whole country celebrates New Year in Chaitra month itself and it is known as Navasvatsar.

The dates of Gudi Padwa, Hola Mohalla, Yugadi, Vishu, Vaishakhi, Kashmiri, Navreh, Chetichand, Ugadi, Chitreya Thiruvija etc. all come around this Navasvatsar. It is from this day that the beginning of Satyuga is considered.

Lord Vishnu took the Matsya avatar on this day. From this day, the day starts to be bigger than the night.

 

Gudi Padwa

Gudi padwa has many names according to different regions of India.

1. Samvatsara Padavo is celebrated in Konkan people of Goa and Kerala.

2. The People of Konkani migrants in Karnataka know it as Yugadi.

3. The people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana celebrate Ugadi.

4. Kashmiris call it Navreh.

5. Sajibu Nongma Panba or Meitei Cheraoba is celebrated in Manipur.

6. Chaitra Navratri for North Indians begins on this day.


On this day, the Marathas hoisted the Gudi. This is the reason why this festival is known as Gudi Padwa. Gudi is made by placing a modified vase over silver, copper or bronze on a bamboo stick and bamboo is made on a beautiful cloth (usually, it is saffron colored and made of silk with a brocade border) . The Gudi is then decorated with gasti (laurel of Chinese precious stones), neem leaves, a mango branch and red-flower garland.

The Gudi is hoisted in a high place such as a roof in the house, with the goal that it is noticeable to everyone. Many people paste it to the right of their windows or their entryways.
