Swami Chinmayananda was born on 8 May 1916 in Ernakulam, Kerala, India, and died on 3 August 1993 (Aged 77) in San Diego, California.
Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj knew that he was a very talented person and entrusted him with conduct a Gita group, as Gurudev called it, which consisted of some members,- the members beings Sri Balakrishna Menon (Swami Chinmayananda), Swami Krishnananda, a very educated philosopher from Bihar called Sri Nanda Kishore Srivastava, etc.
He used to behavior classes in the Ashram, currently and then, he was ordained into Sannyasa by Sri Gurudev on 25th February, 1949 to pursue advance study of scriptures below Swami Tapovanamji Maharaj, in uttarakashi where he stayed with the huge Master studying Panchadasi and further Vedanta texts, as healthy as Upanishads. Having mastered these texts, Swami Chinmayananda Started his individual Jnana Yajna work, and enthused from spot to corner of India conducting the gita classes.
