गोपाष्टमी को शुक्ल पक्ष के दौरान कार्तिक माह में आठवें दिन मनाया जाता है। यह गायों को पूजने का और मनोवांछित फल पाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध उत्सव है। इस दिन, लोग डेयरी पशु धन (गोधन) को पूजा करते हैं और इसके अलावा उन गायों की सराहना और सम्मान करते हैं जिन्हें अस्तित्व प्रदाता के रूप में माना गया है। हिंदू संस्कृति में, डेयरी जानवरों को 'गौ माता' कहा जाता है और उन्हें देवी की तरह प्यार किया जाता है। बछड़ों और डेयरी जानवरों को पूजा करने और प्यार देने की प्रथा गोवत्स द्वादशी के उत्सव की तरह है जो महाराष्ट्र के क्षेत्रों में मनाई जाती है।
गोपाष्टमी के पीछे की कहानी
जब कृष्ण भगवान ने अपने जीवन के छठे वर्ष में कदम रखा। उस समय वे अपनी मइया, यशोदा से कहने लगे, कि वे बड़े हो गए हैं और बछड़े को खिलाने के विपरीत, उन्हें गैया चराने की जरूरत है। मैया ने कृष्ण जी को काफी समझाया पर कान्हा को समझा न पायी और अंत में उसके पिता नंद बाबा को उनका अनुरोध पूर्ण कराने के लिए भेजा। भगवान कृष्ण ने नंद बाबा के सामने वही बातें जारी रखी कि वह अब गायों को चराया करेंगे। श्री कृष्ण जब गायो को चराने जा ही रहे थे की उन्हें गोपियों का एक समूह मिल गया और कृष्ण को देखकर गोपियाँ हॅसने लगी फिर कृष्ण ने गोपियों से पूछा की इतना सज धजकर और इतना सारा भोजन लेकर कहा जा रही हो तो गोपियों ने कहा की हम शांडिल्य ऋषि को भोजन कराने जा रहे है कृष्ण ने कहा की वह तो आजीवन उपवासी है उनको कैसा भोग ?
गोपियों उनकी बात सुनके हसने लगी उन्हें कृष्ण की बात पर विश्वास न था कृष्ण ने कहा की इस बात का प्रमाण तुम्हे इस बात से मिल जायगा की तुम नदी को पार करके वह जाओगी तो नदी के किनारे पहुंचकर ये कह देना की शांडिल्य ऋषि आजीवन उपवासी है यह कहते ही तुम्हे नदी जाने का रास्ता दे देगी, गोपियाँ हसंकर चली गयी और कथन के प्रारूप ठीक वैसा ही हुआ और गोपियाँ चौंक गयी और कृष्ण को पाने के लिए शुभ मुहूर्त देखने लगी और बात करते करते वह पर्वत पहुँच गयी, शांडिल्य ऋषि को भोग कराया और शांडिल्य ऋषि ने पूरा भोजन खा गए और गोपियाँ आपस में कहने लगी की कैसा उपवासी पूरा भोजन तो कर गए और फिर ऋषि ने उन्हें आशीर्वीद दिया फिर एक गोपी ने हिम्मत करके यह पूछ ही लिया की गुरुदेव कृष्ण कहते है की आप आजीवन उपवासी हो, इस पर वे बोले हाँ मैं हूँ, ये भोजन तो मै अपने इष्टदेव को अर्पित करता हूँ
फिर गोपियों ने प्रेम मिलन का शुभ अवसर पूछा और आश्चर्यजनक विस्मय में आए ऋषि ने कहा कि अगले वर्ष से अलग इस समय के अलावा कोई अन्य मुहूर्त नहीं हैं। शायद भगवान की मर्जी के आगे कोई मुहूर्त नहीं था। वह दिन गोपाष्टमी का था। उस समय जब श्री कृष्ण ने गैया को चराना शुरू किया। उस दिन, माँ ने अपने कान्हा को अद्भुत बना दिया। मौर्य का ताज पहनाया, पैरों में कर्ल पहने और सुंदर पादुकाएं पहने, लेकिन कान्हा ने उन पादुकाओं को नहीं पहना। उसने मैया से कहा कि यदि आप इन गैया के चरणों में पादुकायें पहनाएंगी, तो मैं इसे पहनूंगा। यह देखकर मैया भावुक हो जाती हैं और कृष्ण बिना पैरों में कुछ पहने अपनी गैया को चराने ले जाते हैं। यह देखकर, वे ऊर्जावान दिखते हैं| गौ चरण के प्रकाश में, श्री कृष्ण को गोपाल या गोविंद के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
गोपाष्टमी के अनुष्ठान
गोपाष्टमी की पूर्व संध्या पर, भक्त सुबह उठते हैं और गायों को साफ करते हैं और स्नान करते हैं।
इस दिन बछड़े और डेयरी जानवरों को एक साथ रखना और पूजा करना हिंदू रीति-रिवाज है।
डेयरी जानवरों को पानी, चावल, वस्त्र, सुगंध, गुड़, रंगोली, खिलता, मिठाई के साथ पूजा की जाती है। अलग-अलग स्थानों पर, पुजारियों द्वारा गोपाष्टमी के लिए स्पष्ट रूप से पूजा की जाती है।
Gopashtami is celebrated on the eighth day in the month of Kartik during Shukla Paksha. It is a festival committed to worshiping cows and getting desired results. Story behind Gopashtami
When Krishna Bhagavan stepped into the sixth year of his life. At that time they started telling their Maiya, Yashoda, that they had grown up and that, unlike feeding the calf, they needed to feed Gaia. Maiya explained to Krishna ji a lot but could not understand Kanha and finally sent her father Nand Baba to get his request. Lord Krishna continued the same things in front of Nand Baba that he would now graze the cows. While Shri Krishna was going to graze the cows that he found a group of gopis and the gopis started laughing at seeing Krishna, then Krishna asked the gopis that if they were being told so much with respect and with so much food, the gopis said that we are Going to provide food to the shandilya sage, Krishna said that she is a lifelong resident, what kind of enjoyment to them?
The gopis started laughing at them and they did not believe in Krishna's word. Krishna said that you will get proof of this that if you cross the river and go, then you reach the banks of the river and tell that Shandilya Rishi is a lifelong resident. As soon as you say this, it will give you a way to go to the river, the gopis left laughing and the format of the statement is exactly the same and the gopis are shocked and see auspicious time to get Krishna. She started to talk and she reached the mountain, offered the sage Shandilya, and the sage Shandilya ate the whole meal and the gopis started saying to each other, what kind of residents did the whole meal and then the sage blessed them and then a gopi dared. Having already asked that Gurudev Krishna says that you are a lifelong resident, on this he said, yes I am, I offer this food to my presiding deity then the gopis have given love to meet.
Future opportunities asked and called up sage amazing awe said that no other moment than different this time next year. Perhaps there was no Muhurta before the will of God. That day was of Gopashtami. That is when Shri Krishna started grazing Gaia. That day, Mother made her Kanha amazing. Crowned the Mauryas, wore curls across the legs and wore beautiful padukas, but Kanha did not wear those padukas. He told Maia that if you will wear footwear at the feet of these Gaia, I will wear it. Seeing this, Maiya gets emotional and Krishna takes her gaia to graze without wearing anything on her feet . Seeing this, they look energetic. In light of the cow phase, Shri Krishna is also known as Gopal or Govind.
Gopashtami rituals
On the eve of Gopashtami, devotees wake up in the morning and clean the cows and bathe.
On this day, keeping and worshiping calves and dairy animals together is a Hindu custom.
Dairy animals are worshiped with water, rice, clothes, fragrance, jaggery, rangoli, blooms, sweets. At different places, Gopashtami is clearly worshiped by priests.
