कोजागरा पूजा, हिंदू आश्विन माह के 'पूर्णिमा' (पूर्णिमा के दिन) देवी लक्ष्मी को प्रसन्न करने के लिए समर्पित एक अनुकूल दिन है। यह उड़ीसा, पश्चिम बंगाल और असम की भारतीय राज्यों में बड़े धूमधाम के साथ मनाया जाता है।
कोजागरा पूजा
ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर में इसे सितंबर-अक्टूबर की लंबी अवधि में देखा जाता है। लक्ष्मी पूजा का यह दिन अतिरिक्त रूप से 'कोजागरी पूर्णिमा' या 'बंगाल लक्ष्मी पूजा' के रूप में जाना जाता है।
हिंदू धर्म में, लक्ष्मी को समृद्धि की देवी के रूप में जाना जाता है और यह मान्य है कि 'अश्विन पूर्णिमा' के आगमन पर, देवी पृथ्वी पर निस्संदेह उत्कर्ष और महानता के साथ सभी का कल्याण करती है। कोजागरा पूजा का दिन की तरह ही शरद पूर्णिमा को मनाया जाता है। यह मध्य भारत का एक महत्वपूर्ण उत्सव है, विशेष रूप से बुदेलखंड स्थान और बिहार के कुछ हिस्सों में।
कोजागरा पूजा के उत्सव में कई अनुष्ठान और रीति-रिवाज
कोजागरा पूजा के समय, श्रद्धालु देवी लक्ष्मी की पूजा करते हैं और इछाओ के पूरे होने की कामना करते हैं। देवता का चिह्न पंडालों या घरों में लगाया जाता है। कोजागरा पूजा करने के समारोहों में चारों ओर धर्म कर्म व् पूजन होता है

नर्कल भजा, तालर फोल, नरु, खिचुरी और मिठाइयाँ देवी लक्ष्मी को अर्पित की जाती हैं ताकि वे इनका भोग कर सकें
यह माना जाता है कि, इस दिन देवी लक्ष्मी, परिवार की हर एक इकाई का दौरा करती हैं और अपने भक्त को शुभ भाग्य और जबरदस्त संपन्नता प्रदान करती हैं
श्रद्धालु रात भर जागते हैं और देवी को संतुष्ट करने के लिए मंत्र, कीर्तन और भजन गाते हैं।
देवी का सम्मान करने के लिए, भक्त अपने घरों को मिट्टी के दीयों और रोशनी से रोशन करते हैं।
भक्त इस दिन व्रत भी रखते हैं और दिन की अवधि के लिए पोषण और पीने के पानी से खुद को जितना हो सके दूर रखते हैं। हर एक रीति-रिवाज को पूरा करने और देवी लक्ष्मी को नारियल पानी और चावल चढ़ाने के बाद, भक्त अपने उपवास को खोल सकते हैं।
Kojagara Puja is a favorable day dedicated to please Goddess Lakshmi, the 'Purnima' (full moon day) of the Hindu Ashwin month. It is celebrated with great pomp in the Indian states of Orissa, West Bengal and Assam.
Kojagara Puja
In the Gregorian calendar it is seen over a long period of September – October. This day of Lakshmi Puja is additionally known as ‘Kojagari Purnima’ or ‘Bengal Lakshmi Puja’.
In Hinduism, Lakshmi is known as the Goddess of Prosperity and it is recognized that on the arrival of 'Ashwin Purnima', the Goddess favors everyone with undoubted exaltation and great welfare on earth. Sharad Purnima is celebrated just like the day of Kojagara Puja. It is an important festival of Central India, particularly in the place of Budhelkhand and parts of Bihar.
Many rituals and customs in celebration of Kojagara Puja
At the time of Kojagara Puja, devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi and wish to be completed. The symbol of the deity is placed in pandals or houses. Religion and worship are done in the ceremonies of worshiping Kojagara.
Devotees perform Lakshmi Puja under the guidance of a priest.
Narkal bhaja, talar fol, naru, khichuri and sweets are offered to Goddess Lakshmi
It is believed that on this day, Goddess Lakshmi visits every single unit of the family and bestows her favored fortune and tremendous prosperity.
Devotees would stay up all night and sing mantras, kirtans and hymns to please the Goddess.
To honor the Goddess, devotees illuminate their homes with earthen lamps and lights.
Devotees also keep fast on this day and keep themselves away from nutrition and drinking water for the duration of the day as much as possible. After completing every custom and offering coconut water and rice to Goddess Lakshmi, devotees can break their fast.
