कूर्मा जयंती का उत्सव भगवान विष्णु के कछुए रूप के अवतरण की ख़ुशी में मनाया जाता है, जिसे संस्कृत भाषा में 'कुर्मा' कहा जाता है। यह हिंदू कैलेंडर में 'वैशाख' के लंबे खंड में 'पूर्णिमा' (पूर्णिमा के दिन) पर पड़ता है। अंग्रेजी कैलेंडर में, यह तिथि मई-जून के बीच आती है। जैसा कि हिंदू लोककथाओं के अनुसार यह माना जाता है कि इसी दिन, 'कुरमा' के प्रतीक में भगवान विष्णु ने 'क्षीर सागर मंथन' के दौरान अपनी पीठ पर विशाल मंदरांचल पर्वत को उठाया था। उसके बाद से कूर्मा जयंती को भगवान कूर्मा (कछुआ) के जन्म को उत्सव के रूप में जाना जाता है। यह संरचना श्री हरि विष्णु के दूसरे प्रतीक के रूप में जानी जाती है और हिंदू प्रशंसक इस दिन को पूरी खुशी और प्रतिबद्धता के साथ मनाते हैं। कुर्मा जयंती के आगमन पर पूरे देश में भगवान विष्णु के मंदिरों में अनोखे पूजन और समारोह आयोजित किए जाते हैं। आंध्र प्रदेश में 'श्री कुर्मान श्री कुर्मनाथ स्वामी मंदिर' में किया गया कार्यक्रम शानदार होता है और समारोह विदेश से दूर-दूर से आए श्रद्धालुओं को आकर्षित करता है।
कुर्मा जयंती का महत्व
जिस दिन भगवान विष्णु ने कूर्मा के रूप में अवतार लिया, वह दिन कूर्मा जयंती के रूप में मनाया जाता है। यह दिन शास्त्रों के अनुसार बहुत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है। इस दिन निर्माण कार्य शुरू करना बहुत शुभ माना जाता है क्योंकि ऐसा माना जाता है कि योगमाया कूर्म के साथ रहती हैं। यह दिन वास्तु से संबंधित कार्यों, नए घर में शिफ्टिंग आदि के लिए भी शुभ है।
कूर्मा जयंती के अनुष्ठान
अन्य हिंदू त्योहारों के समान, इस दिन भी सूर्योदय से पहले स्नान करना पवित्र माना जाता है।
सफाई के बाद श्रद्धालु नई और साफ-सुथरी पूजा वस्त्र (पूजा परिधान) पहनते हैं।
भगवान विष्णु को चंदन, तुलसी के पत्ते, कुमकुम, अगरबत्ती, फूल और मिष्ठान अर्पित करे।
कूर्मा जयंती की एक घड़ी देखना बहुत उल्लेखनीय माना जाता है। इस तरह, भक्त इस विशिष्ट दिन पर एक शांत वादा या एक गंभीर कुर्मा जयंती देखते हैं।
जो व्यक्ति इस दिन व्रत रखते है उन्हें केवल दूध की वस्तुओं और जैविक उत्पादों को खाने की अनुमति दी जाती है।
कुर्मा जयंती व्रत की मान्यता के दौरान, दर्शक किसी भी प्रकार के भ्रष्ट अविचलित खेलों को खेलने के लिए सीमित हैं और इसी तरह झूठ बोलने के लिए भी सीमित हैं।
दर्शक पूरी रात भगवान का भजन, कीर्तन, गायन कर उनकी भक्ति में लीन हो जाते है। वे भगवान विष्णु को प्रसन्न करने के लिए अपनी सम्पूर्ण ऊर्जा को उनकी भक्ति में लगाते है।
इस दिन ' विष्णु सहस्रनाम ’का उच्चारण करना बहुत ही अच्छा माना जाता है।
जब हर एक रीति-रिवाज हो जाता है, तो उसके पश्चात आरती होती हैं।
कुर्मा जयंती की पूर्व संध्या पर परोपकार के कार्य को गहराई से पूरा करने हेतु भक्त की भीड़ देखने को बनती है।
श्रद्धालुओं को ब्राह्मणों को पोषण, वस्त्र और नकदी देना चाहिए।
The celebration of Kurma Jayanti is celebrated to commemorate the incarnation of a turtle form Lord Vishnu, which is called 'Kurma' in Sanskrit language. It is considered very auspicious to start the construction work on this day as it is believed that Yogamaya lives with Kurm. This day is also auspicious for Vastu related works, shifting to new house etc.
Rituals of kurma jayanti
Like other Hindu festivals, bathing before sunrise on this day is considered sacred.
After cleaning, the devotees wear new and clean puja garments.
Offer sandalwood, basil leaves, kumkum, incense sticks, flowers and sweets to Lord Vishnu.
The day of Kurma Jayanti is considered very auspicious. In this way, devotees observe a quiet promise or a solemn Kurma Jayanti on this specific day.
Those who observe fast on this day are allowed to eat only milk items and organic products.
During the recognition of Kurma Jayanti Vrat, the audience is limited to playing any kind of corrupt obsolete games and similarly to lying.
The audience gets engrossed in their devotion by singing hymns, kirtans, hymns of the Lord all night. They devote all their energy in their devotion to please Lord Vishnu.
It is considered very good to pronounce 'Vishnu Sahasranama' on this day.
When every custom is performed, then aarti is followed.
On the eve of Kurma Jayanti, a crowd of devotees is seen to deeply complete the work of philanthropy.
Devotees should provide nutrition, clothing and cash to Brahmins.
