महर्षि वाल्मीकि जयंती महान रचनाकार और ऋषि, महर्षि वाल्मीकि जी का जन्मदिवस है। प्रथागत हिंदू कैलेंडर के अनुसार, यह तिथि अश्विन के लंबे खंड के दौरान 'पूर्णिमा' पर पड़ती है जबकि ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर में यह सितंबर-अक्टूबर की अवधि से संबंधित है। महर्षि वाल्मीकि अतुलनीय हिंदू महाकाव्य रामायण के रचनाकार थे और इसके बाद उन्होंने 'अड़ी कवि' या संस्कृत साहित्य के पहले कवि के रूप में काम किया। रामायण, भगवान राम की कहानी को दर्शाते हुए पहली बार संस्कृत भाषा में महर्षि वाल्मीकि द्वारा लिखा गया था और इसमें कंटो ’(कैंटोस) में विभाजित 24,000 अवशेष शामिल हैं। वाल्मीकि जयंती इस महान व्यक्ति को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए मनाई जाती है। यह दिन भारत के उत्तरी राज्यों में समर्पण के साथ मनाया जाता है और इसीलिए इस दिन को 'प्रगति दिवस' के रूप में घोषित किया गया है।
वाल्मीकि प्रतिष्ठित हिंदू महाकाव्य रामायण के रचनाकार हैं और प्राचीन दुनिया के महानतम संतों में से एक हैं। जैसा कि हिंदू पौराणिक कथाओं से पता चलता है कि महर्षि वाल्मीकि ने अपने आश्रम में सीता को शरण दी थी और लव-कुश का जन्म व् उनका पालन पोषण भी वही हुआ था |
उनके संपूर्ण जीवन और शिक्षाओं ने हमेशा मनुष्य को समाज के अन्याय के खिलाफ लड़ने के लिए प्रोत्साहित किया है।
कुछ लोग रंगीन धार्मिक जुलूसों के दौरान शहर की सड़कों के माध्यम से उनकी तस्वीर ले जाते हैं, यहां तक कि उनकी पूजा करते हैं और उनके जैसे गुरु को पाने के लिए प्रार्थना करते हैं। अन्य लोग हिंदू मंदिरो में उनके महाकाव्य के खंडों का पाठ करते हैं, विशेषकर उन मंदिरो में जो स्पष्ट रूप से उनके लिए समर्पित हैं।
वाल्मीकि जयंती के दौरान रसम रिवाज
1. वाल्मीकि जयंती पर लोग प्रसिद्ध संत और कवियों के प्रति अपना आदर व्यक्त करते हैं। कई शहरों और कस्बों में, वे मुख्य रूप से वाल्मीकि के चित्रों के साथ परेड करते हैं। हिंदू भक्त इस दिन उनके समर्पण को याद करते हैं। कई स्थानों पर, उनकी छवि पूछी जाती है।
2. इस दिन पूरे भारत में भगवान राम के मंदिरों में रामायण के पाठ का आयोजन किया जाता है। इसके अलावा, महर्षि वाल्मीकि के लिए प्रतिबद्ध कई मंदिर भी भारत में स्थित हैं।
3. वाल्मीकि जयंती के मौके पर, इन मंदिरो को परिपूर्ण सूंदर फूलों से सजाया जाता है। प्रकृति को शुद्ध और मनमोहक बनाने के लिए, कई अगरबत्तियां जलाई जाती हैं। इन मंदिरों में भजन कीर्तन जैसे कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं। इस शुभ अवसर पर कई यात्री भगवान राम के मंदिरो में जाते हैं और महर्षि वाल्मीकि की स्मृति में रामायण के श्लोक के एक हिस्से का पाठ करते हैं।
4. वाल्मीकि जयंती के अवसर पर, गरीब लोगों और निराश्रितों को मुफ्त भोजन दिया जाता है। इस दिन परोपकार( दान- पुण्य ) करने वाले व्यक्ति को असाधारण उत्पादक के रूप में देखा जाता है।
Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti is the birthday of the great creator and sage, Maharishi Valmiki. According to the customary Hindu calendar, this date falls on the 'full moon' during the long section of Ashwin, while in the Gregorian calendar it is related to the period September-October. Maharishi Valmiki was the creator of the incomparable Hindu epic Ramayana and thereafter worked as the 'Adi Kavi' or the first poet of Sanskrit literature. The Ramayana depicting the story of Lord Rama was first written in the Sanskrit language by Maharshi Valmiki and contains 24,000 relics divided into cantos' (cantos). Valmiki Jayanti is celebrated to pay tribute to this great man. This day is celebrated with dedication in the northern states of India and that is why this day has been declared as 'Pragati Day'.
Valmiki is the creator of the iconic Hindu epic Ramayana and one of the greatest saints of the ancient world. As Hindu mythology shows, Maharishi Valmiki had given shelter to Sita in her ashram and Lav-Kush was born and raised as well.
His entire life and teachings have always encouraged man to fight against the injustice of society.
Some people take photographs of him during colorful religious processions through the streets of the city, even worshiping him and praying for his portrait. Others recite sections of his epic in Hindu temples, especially in temples that are clearly dedicated to him.
Rituals During Valmiki Jayanti
1. On Valmiki Jayanti, people express their respect for famous saints and poets. In many cities and towns, they mainly parade with portraits of Valmiki. Hindu devotees remember his dedication on this day. In many places, his image is asked.
2. On this day Ramayana recitations are organized in the temples of Lord Rama all over India. Apart from this, many temples committed to Maharishi Valmiki are also located in India.
3. On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, these temples are decorated with perfect beautiful flowers. To make nature pure and enchanting, many incense sticks are lit. Programs like Bhajan Kirtan are organized in these temples. On this auspicious occasion, many travelers visit the temples of Lord Rama and recite a part of the verse of Ramayana in memory of Maharishi Valmiki.
4. On the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, poor people and destitute are given free food. On this day a person performing philanthropy (charity) is seen as an extraordinary producer.
