नारद जयंती देवर्षि नारद का जन्म दिवस है जिसे एक पर्व के रूप में मनाया जाता है। ऋषि नारद प्रमुख अधिपतियों में से एक हैं और महान सात ऋषियों में से भी एक हैं। नारद मुनि को संचार का अग्रणी माना जाता है। यह पर्व वैशाख महीने (अप्रैल - मई) में पूर्णिमा (पूर्ण चंद्र ) के बाद मनाया जाता है।
पुराणों से ज्ञात होता है कि ऋषि नारद भगवान ब्रह्मा के माथे से प्रकट हुए थे, जबकि विष्णु पुराण में कहा गया है कि वे ऋषि कश्यप के पुत्र हैं। नारद ऋषि प्रजापतियों में से एक हैं और सात माननीय ऋषियों में भी हैं। नारद जयंती को देवऋषि नारद की जयंती के रूप में मनाया जाता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि वह पूरी दुनिया में लगातार गायन और संवाद की जानकारी लेकर घूमते है। ऋग्वेद में नारद मुनि से मान्यता प्राप्त कुछ भजन हैं। नारद जी की कल्पना एक संन्यासी के रूप में वीणा के साथ की जाती है, जो अक्सर सकारात्मक इरादे से या ब्रह्मांड की भलाई के लिए पाठ्यक्रम का ज्ञान पैदा करते हैं।
ऋषि नारद को आधुनिक जगत के अनुसार पत्रकार और जनसंचार का अग्रदूत कहा जा हैं। इसलिए इस दिन को 'पत्रकार दिवस’ भी कहा जाता है और पूरे देश में इसे हर्षोउल्लास के साथ मनाया जाता है और ऐसा माना जाता है कि वे वीणा के आविष्कारक थे। उन्हें गंधर्वों का प्रमुख माना गया है जो की दिव्य संगीतकार थे।
उत्तर भारत में इस अवसर पर बौद्धिक बैठकें, सेमिनार और प्रार्थनाएँ आयोजित की जाती हैं। इस दिन पत्रकारों से अपील की जाती है कि वे अपने आदर्शों का पालन करें, समाज के लोगों के लिए अपने दृष्टिकोण को व्यापक बनाएं और लोक कल्याण की ओर बढ़ें।
नारद जयंती के अनुष्ठान
भक्तों को पवित्र जल में स्नान करना चाहिए और पूजा के लिए जल्दी से जल्दी तैयार होना चाहिए।
इस दिन भगवान विष्णु की मूर्ति या उनके चित्र की वंदना की जाती है, क्योंकि ऋषि नारद स्वंय ब्रह्मांड के भगवान विष्णु के बहुत बड़े भक्त थे।
कहा जाता है कि पूजा शुद्ध हृदय और मन से की जानी चाहिए। आप भगवान विष्णु की आरती के बाद भगवान को तुलसी, फूल, धूप की छड़ी और दीपक चढ़ा सकते हैं।
काशी विश्वनाथ के दर्शन करने लोगो और ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराना चाहिए। इस दिन ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराना बहुत ही फलदायी माना जाता है।

Narada Muni is considered the pioneer of communication. This festival is celebrated after the purnima (full moon) in the month of Vaishakh (April - May).
It is known from the Puranas that Sage Narada appeared from the forehead of Lord Brahma, while Vishnu Purana states that he is the son of sage Kashyapa. Narada is one of the sage Prajapati and also among the seven honorable sages. Narada Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Devaraishi Narada. It is believed that he roams around the world constantly with information about singing and dialogue. There are some hymns recognized with Narada Muni in the Rigveda. Naradji is conceived as a monk with Veena, who often creates troubles of course with positive intentions or for the good of the universe.
Rishi Narada is a modern-day journalist and a pioneer of mass media. Therefore, this day is also called 'Patrakara Divas' and is celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the country and it is believed that he was the inventor of Veena. He is considered the chief of the Gandharvas, who were divine musicians.
Intellectual meetings, seminars and prayers are organized on this occasion in North India. On this day, journalists are appealed to follow their ideals, broaden their outlook for the people of the society and move towards public welfare.
Rituals of Narada Jayanti
Devotees should bath in the holy water and get ready for worship as quickly as possible.
The idol or picture of Lord Vishnu is worshiped on this day, because Rishi Narada himself was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu of the universe.
It is said that worship should be performed with a pure heart and mind. You can offer basil, flowers, incense sticks and lamps to the Lord after the aarti of Lord Vishnu.
People and Brahmins should have food to see Kashi Vishwanath. Offering food to Brahmins on this day is considered very fruitful.
