पौराणिक लेखनो के अनुसार, ज्येष्ठ माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया तिथि को रंभा तृतीया व्रत या रंभा तीज मनाई जाती है। ग्रगोरियन कैलेंडर में यह पर्व मई - जून के महीने में आता है। इस दिन विवाहित महिलाएं उपवास रखती हैं ताकि उन्हें गणेश जैसी बुद्धिमान संतान (पुत्री / पुत्र) प्राप्त हो और उनपर माँ पार्वती और भगवान् शिव की कृपा दृष्टि हमेशा बनी रहे। हिंदू ग्रंथो से पता चलता है, रंभा समुद्र मंथन से उत्पन्न 14 रत्नों में से एक थी। कहा जाता है कि रंभा उत्कृष्ट थीं। कई खोजकर्ता रंभा के लिए गहन अभ्यास करके सम्मोहक सिद्धि हासिल करते हैं।
रंभा तीज का महत्व
रम्भा तृतीया या रंभा तृतीया, मुख्य रूप से उत्तर भारत में ज्येष्ठ (मई - जून) के महीने में शुक्ल पक्ष के तीसरे दिन मनाया जाने वाला पर्व है। यह दिन अप्सरा रम्भा को समर्पित है, जो कि प्रसिद्ध समुद्र मंथन के दौरान समुद्र से निकली थी। उत्तर भारत में कुछ हिंदू समुदायों की महिलाओं द्वारा उनकी वंदना की जाती है।

रम्भा तीज का पर्व कैसे मनाये ?
उगते सूर्य को देखकर पूजा पूर्व की ओर मुख करके करें।
भगवान् गणेश को अर्पित करने के लिए भोज्य पदार्थ व् पूजन सामग्री सबसे पहले तैयार करें।
सूर्य को जल अर्पित करें।
घर में भी पूजा पूर्व की ओर मुख करके करें।
पूजा कक्ष में गाय के घी का दीपक जलायें।
प्रसाद में बिना पका हुआ गेहूं, लाल फूल और एक मौसमी फल शामिल अवश्य होना चाहिए।
कुछ लोग पायल (पायल), आभूषण, महिलाओं द्वारा पैरों और हाथों पर पहना जाने वाला लाल रंग (आल्ता) और अन्य सौंदर्य उत्पाद भी रखते हैं। इन्हें पूरे दिन अपने पास रखा जाता है और अगले दिन सुबह निकालकर इस्तेमाल किया जाता है।

How to Celebrate the Festival of Rambha Teej?
Seeing the rising sun, worship it facing east.
To offer Lord Ganesha, prepare food items and worship materials first.
Offer water to the Sun.
In the house too, worship it towards the east.
Light a lamp of cow's ghee in the worship room.
The Prasad must include unripe wheat, red flowers and a seasonal fruit.
Some also keep anklets (Payal), jewelery, red color (Alta) worn on the feet and hands by women and other beauty products. They are kept with them for the whole day and are taken out in the morning and used the next day.
