षटतिला एकादशी को कृष्ण पक्ष के ग्यारहवें दिन हिन्दू कैलेंडर में 'माघ' के लंबे खंड के दौरान देखा जाता है जो की ग्रेगोरियन कैलेंडर में सबसे लंबी समयावद्धि के दौरान, जनवरी में पड़ता है। भारत के उत्तरी राज्यों में, इस एकादशी को 'माघ' के हिंदू महीने के दौरान मनाया जाता है, जबकि कुछ राज्यों में इसे हिंदू कार्यक्रम के 'पौष' महीने के समय मनाया जाता है। अन्य एकादशी के दर्शन की तरह, षटतिला एकादशी भगवान विष्णु को प्रसन्न करने और इस दिन व्रत रखने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है; इस तरह भक्त अपनी सभी मुश्किलों व दुर्भाग्य से मुक्ति पाते है।
षटतिला एकादशी को 'माघ कृष्ण एकादशी', 'तिल्डा एकादशी', या 'सतिला एकादशी' के नाम से भी जाना जाता है और यह शब्द’ शट अर्थात छह और ‘तिल’ का अर्थ है ’तिल के बीज’। इस दिन तिल को छह अलग-अलग तरीकों से उपयोग किया जाता है। 'तिल' का उपयोग इस दिन शुभता के रूप में देखा जाता है क्योंकि यह धार्मिक लाभ और अन्य तरह से पवित्रिकरण देता है। इस दिन गरीब लोगों और भूखे लोगों को तिल दान करना बहुत अच्छा माना जाता है। षटतिला एकादशी पर पूर्वजों या पितरों को तिल और जल अर्पित करने का रिवाज है। यह एकादशी अतिरिक्त रूप से किसी के जीवन के दौरान प्रस्तुत किसी व्यक्ति के सभी दुर्भावनापूर्ण कार्यों या पापों को दूर करती है।
षटतिला एकादशी का महत्व:
षटतिला एकादशी के महत्व को 'भविष्यसूत्र पुराण' में पुलस्त्य मुनि और ऋषि दलभय के बीच चर्चा के रूप में स्पष्ट किया गया है। यह माना जाता है की षटतिला एकादशी देखने वाले व्यक्ति को अनगढ़ धन और मान सम्मान दिया जाता है। हिंदू मान्यताओं के अनुसार वे मोक्ष प्राप्त करेंगे और पुनरुत्थान के अनंत चक्र से अवसर प्राप्त करेंगे। षटतिला एकादशी पर 'तिल’ चढ़ाने से, श्रद्धालुओं को उनके वर्तमान या पिछले अस्तित्व में जानबूझकर या अनजाने में किए गए हर एक गलत काम से मुक्त कर दिया जाएगा।इसके अलावा पानी के साथ मिश्रित तिल के बीज चढ़ाने से भी मृत पूर्वजों को शांति प्रदान की जा सकती है।।
षटतिला एकादशी कथा
एक बार नारद मुनि भगवान विष्णु के धाम वैकुंठ पहुंचे। वहाँ उन्होंने भगवान विष्णु से 'शीतला एकादशी' की कहानी और उसके महत्व के बारे में पूछा। तब भगवान विष्णु ने उनसे कहा- "प्राचीन समय में, पृथ्वी पर एक ब्राह्मण की पत्नी रहती थी। उनके पति की मृत्यु हो गई थी। उन्होंने मुझमें बहुत श्रद्धा और भक्ति रखी। एक बार उन्होंने एक महीने तक उपवास रखा और मेरी पूजा की। व्रत के प्रभाव से। उनका शरीर शुद्ध हो गया, लेकिन उन्होंने ब्राह्मण और देवताओं को कभी भी भोजन नहीं कराया । इसलिए मैंने सोचा कि यह महिला एक सतीत्व में होने के बाद भी समझ से बाहर रहेगी। इसलिए एक दिन मैं उससे भीख माँगने के लिए उसके पास गया।
जब मैंने ब्राह्मण की पत्नी से प्रार्थना की, तो उसने एक मिट्टी का पिंड लिया और मेरे हाथों पर रख दिया। मैं उसे लेकर वापस अपने धाम लौट आया। कुछ दिनों के बाद उसने शरीर छोड़ दिया और मेरी शरण में आ गयी। यहां उन्हें एक कुटिया और आम का पेड़ मिला। खाली झोंपड़ी को देखकर वह घबरा गई और मेरे पास आयी और कहा, "मैं एक देवी हूँ, फिर मुझे खाली झोंपड़ी क्यों मिली?" तब मैंने उनसे कहा कि यह भोजन दान नहीं किया गया और मुझे मिट्टी का शरीर दिया गया। मैंने तब उनसे कहा कि जब भगवान की बेटियां आपसे मिलने आए, तब आपको अपना दरवाजा तभी तक खोलना चाहिए, जब तक कि वे आपको 'शीतला एकादशी' के व्रत का विधान न बता दें। देवकन्या ने जो विधि बताई उससे महिला ने 'षटतिला एकादशी' का व्रत किया। व्रत के प्रभाव से उनकी कुटिया अन्न और धन से भर गई। अतः हे नारद! इस तथ्य पर विश्वास करें कि जो व्यक्ति इस एकादशी का व्रत करता है और उसे तिल और भोजन का भोग लगाता है, उसे मोक्ष और वैभव की प्राप्ति होती है।
षटतिला एकादशी व्रत की पूजा विधान
षट्तिला एकादशी का व्रत रखने वाले लोगों को सुबह जल्दी उठना चाहिए और स्नान करना चाहिए।
उन्हें पूजा स्थल को साफ करना चाहिए, विशेष कदम वाले क्षेत्र को समृद्ध और सुशोभित करना चाहिए और उसके बाद भगवान विष्णु मूर्ति, को स्थापित करना चाहिए।
भक्तों को पूजा अर्चना करनी चाहिए और भगवान कृष्ण के भजन और विष्णु सहस्रनाम का पाठ करना चाहिए।
प्रसाद (पवित्र जीविका), तुलसी जल, जैविक उत्पाद, नारियल, अगरबत्ती, और फूल देवताओं को अर्पित करने चाहिए, और लगातार मंत्रों का उच्चारण करना चाहिए और श्रद्धापूर्वक धुनें गानी चाहिए।
अगली सुबह यानि द्वादशी पर वही पूजा दोहराई जानी चाहिए और भक्त पवित्र भोजन का सेवन करने के बाद अपनी षट्तिला एकादशी व्रत को खोल सकते हैं।
Shattila Ekadashi is observed on the eleventh day of Krishna Paksha during the long stretch of 'Magha' in the Hindu calendar which falls in January, during the longest period of time in the Gregorian calendar. Shattila Ekadashi is also known as' Magha Krishna Ekadashi ',' Tilda Ekadashi ', or' Satila Ekadashi 'and the word' Shat means six and 'Til' means' sesame seeds'. On this day, sesame is used in six different ways. The use of 'til' is seen as auspicious on this day as it gives religious benefits and sanctification in other ways. Donating sesame to poor people and hungry people on this day is considered very good. It is a custom to offer sesame and water to ancestors or ancestors on Shattila Ekadashi. This Ekadashi additionally removes all the malicious actions or sins of a person presented during one's life.
Importance of Shattila Ekadashi:
The importance of Shattila Ekadashi is clarified in the 'Bhavishutra Purana' as a discussion between Pulastya Muni and sage Dalbhaya. It is believed that a person who observes Shattila Ekadashi is given unconditional wealth and honor. According to Hindu beliefs they will attain salvation and get opportunities from the infinite cycle of resurrection. By offering 'til' on Shattila Ekadashi, the devotees will be freed from every wrongdoing done intentionally or unknowingly in their present or past existence. Also offering peace to dead ancestors by offering sesame seeds mixed with water.
Shattila Ekadashi story
Once Narada Muni reached Vaikuntha, the abode of Lord Vishnu. There he asked Lord Vishnu about the story of 'Sheetla Ekadashi' and its importance. Then Lord Vishnu said to him- "In ancient times, there lived a wife of a Brahmin on earth. Her husband died. She put great reverence and devotion in me. Once she fasted for a month and worshiped me. Under the influence of fasting, her body was purified, but she never fed the Brahmin and the gods. That is why I thought that this woman, despite being in a sativa, understandably Will. So one day I went to him to beg him.
When I prayed to the Brahmin's wife, he took an earthen object and placed it on my hands. I returned with him to my abode. After a few days she left the body and came to my shelter. Here they found a hut and mango tree. Seeing the empty hut, she panicked and came to me and said, "I am your great Devotees, then why did I get an empty hut?" Then I told them that this food was not donated and I was given a body of clay. I then told them that when the daughters of God come to meet you, then you should open your door till they tell you the law of 'Sheetla Ekadashi' fast. The woman fasted on the 'Shattila Ekadashi' with the method Devkanya gave. Due to the effect of the fast, his hut was filled with food and money. So O Narada! Believe in the fact that the person who observes this Ekadashi fasts and offers sesame seeds and food, he attains salvation and glory.
Shattila Ekadashi fasting ritual
People observing the fast of Shattila Ekadashi should wake up early in the morning and take a bath.
They should clean the place of worship, enrich and beautify the area with special steps and then install the Lord Vishnu idol.
Devotees should offer prayers and recite Bhajan of Lord Krishna and Vishnu Sahasranama.
Prasad (sacred sustenance), basil water, organic produce, coconut, incense sticks, and flowers should be offered to the deities, and chanting mantras continuously and singing devoutly tunes.
The same puja should be repeated the next morning i.e. on Dwadashi and devotees can open their Shattila Ekadashi fast after consuming holy food.
