सावन के महीने का हिंदू धर्म में अविश्वसनीय महत्व है। चूंकि श्रावण के लंबे खंड में भगवान शिव की पूजा का विशेष महत्व है। जैसा कि हिंदू पंचांग द्वारा संकेत दिया गया है, यह महीना हिन्दू कैलेंडर का पांचवा महीना है और अंग्रेजी कैलेंडर के अनुसार सावन का लंबा समय जुलाई-अगस्त में आता है। इस समय के दौरान, सावन को सोमवार व्रत के सबसे अधिक महत्व के रूप में जाना जाता है। दरअसल श्रावण मास भगवान भोलेनाथ को सबसे प्रिय है। इस माह में सोमवार का व्रत और सावन स्नान की परंपरा है। इस महीने में सोमवार के दिन उपवास और सावन की बारिश होती है। श्रावण के लंबे खंड में, भगवान भोलेनाथ को बेल पत्र अर्पित करना और उन्हें जल अर्पित करना उत्तम फल प्रदायक के रूप में देखा जाता है। शिव पुराण के अनुसार, जो भी व्यक्ति इस महीने में सोमवार का व्रत करता है, भगवान शिव उसकी हर मनोकामना पूरी करते हैं। सावन की अवधि के दौरान, लाखों अग्रणी श्रद्धालु ज्योतिर्लिंग की पूजा के लिए हरिद्वार, देवघर, उज्जैन, नासिक सहित भारत के कई धार्मिक स्थलों पर जाते हैं।
सावन के महीने का प्रकृति से भी गहरा संबंध है क्योंकि इस माह में वर्षा ऋतु होने से संपूर्ण धरती बारिश से हरी-भरी हो जाती है। मध्य वर्ष के मौसम के बाद के महीनो में बारिश मानव को असाधारण मदद देती है। इसके अलावा श्रावण मास में कई त्यौहार भी मनाये जाते हैं।
भारत (महाराष्ट्र, गोवा और गुजरात) के पश्चिमी समुद्र तट की अग्रिम स्थितियों में, श्रावण की अवधि के सबसे हाल के दिन, नारली पूर्णिमा मनाई जाती है।
सावन की कहानी
प्राचीन काल में एक अमीर आदमी था, जिसके पास धन और शौहरत की एक विस्तृत श्रृंखला थी, फिर भी चौंकाने वाली बात यह थी कि उसके पास कोई संतान नहीं थी। इस बात का दुख उसे लगातार होता रहा, फिर भी वह और उसकी पत्नी दोनों शिव भक्ति में लीन रहते थे। दोनों ने भगवान शिव के प्रेम में सोमवार को व्रत रखना शुरू कर दिया। उनके वास्तविक समर्पण को देखकर, माता पार्वती ने भगवान शिव से उन दो जोड़ों की सूनी गोद को भरने के लिए कहा। परिणाम स्वरूप शिव के आशीर्वाद से उनके घर में पुत्र ने जन्म लिया, फिर बालक के जन्म साथ, एक आकाशवाणी हुई, यह बालक अल्पायु होगा। 12 साल की आयु में इस बालक की मृत्यु हो जाएगी। इस भविष्यकथन के साथ उस व्यक्ति को पुत्र प्राप्ति की अधिक ख़ुशी न थी। उसने अपने बालक का नाम अमर रखा।
जैसे-जैसे अमर थोड़ा बड़ा हुआ, उस धनी व्यक्ति ने उसको शिक्षा के लिए काशी भेजना उचित समझा। उसने अपने साले को अमर के साथ काशी भेजने का निश्चय किया। अमर अपने मामा जी के साथ काशी की ओर चल दिए। रास्ते में उन्होंने जहाँ-जहाँ विश्राम किया वहाँ-वहाँ उन्होंने ब्राह्मणों को दान-दक्षिणा दी। चलते-चलते वे एक नगर में पहुँच गए। जहाँ पर एक राजकुमारी के विवाह का समारोह हो रहा था। उस राजकुमारी का दूल्हा एक आँख से काना था, यह बात दूल्हे के परिवार वालों ने राज परिवार से छिपाकर रखी थी। उन्हें इस बात का डर था कि यह बात अगर राजा को पता चल गई तो यह शादी नहीं होगी। इसलिए दूल्हे के घर वालों ने अमर से झूठमूठ का दूल्हा बनने का आग्रह किया और वह उनके आग्रह को मना न कर सका। इस प्रकार उस राजकुमारी के साथ अमर की शादी हो गई, लेकिन वह उस राजकुमारी को धोखे में नहीं रखना चाहता था। इसलिए उसने राजकुमारी की चुनरी में इस घटनाक्रम की पूरी सच्चाई लिख दी। राजकुमारी ने जब अमर के उस संदेश को पढ़ा, तब उसने अमर को ही अपना पति माना और काशी से वापस लौटने तक उसका इंतज़ार करने को कहा। अमर और उसके मामा वहाँ से काशी की ओर चल दिए।
समय का पहिया आगे बढ़ा। फिर, धार्मिक अभ्यासों के साथ अमर आगे बढ़ता रहा। जब अमर केवल 12 वर्ष का था, उस समय वह शिव मंदिर में भोले बाबा को बेल पत्तियाँ चढ़ा रहा था।। इसके साथ ही, वहाँ यमराज उसके प्राण लेने पधारे, इससे पहले भगवान शिव ने अमर की भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर उसे दीर्घायु का वरदान दे दिया था। परिणाम स्वरूप यमराज को खाली हाथ लौटना पड़ा। बाद में अमर काशी से शिक्षा प्राप्त करके अपनी पत्नी (राजकुमारी) के साथ घर लौटा।
कांवर यात्रा
100 किलोमीटर से अधिक लंबी यात्रा इस शुभ महीने के दौरान आयोजित की जाती है। वार्षिक यात्रा में, भगवा प्रेमी अपने आस-पास के शिवलिंगों को चढ़ाने के लिए अपने गंगा जल को लाने और अपने घरों में ले जाने के लिए लंबे समय तक अलग-अलग घूमते हैं। एक छोटी सभा से, यह भारत के सबसे बड़े वार्षिक यात्रा स्थानों में से एक बन गया है।
उपवास और पूजा विधि
सोमवार व्रत के तीसरे दिन का उपवास बहुत जोर शोर से मनाया जाता है।
सुबह दैनिक क्रिया करने के बाद व्रत का संकल्प करना चाहिए। इसके बाद गंगा जल, बेलपत्र, सुपारी, पुष्प, धतूरा आदि से पूजन करना चाहिए। इसके साथ ही भगवान शंकर की पूजा करने के बाद व्रत कथा सुनना अनिवार्य माना जाता है।
शिव मंत्रों का जाप करें। ऐसा माना जाता है कि सोमवार के दिन श्रावण मास का व्रत रखने से पूरे वर्ष के सभी व्रतों का फल मिलेगा।
तीसरी घड़ी खत्म होने के बाद, खाना एक बार खाना चाहिए।
रात को जमीन पर सोना चाहिए।
इस तरह, इस व्रत का पालन पहले सोमवार से लेकर सावन के अंतिम सोमवार तक किया जाना चाहिए।

Story of sawan
In ancient times there was a rich man who had a wide range of wealth and fame, yet the shocking thing was that he had no children. He continued to be sad about this, yet both he and his wife were absorbed in Shiva devotion. Both started fasting in love of Lord Shiva on Monday. Seeing their real dedication, Mata Parvati asked Lord Shiva to fill the lonely lap of those two couples. As a result, with the blessings of Shiva, the son was born in their house, then with the birth of a child, a Akashvani, this child Will be short. This child will die at the age of 12 years. With this prophecy, the person was not very happy. He named his child Amar.
As Amar grew a little, that rich man thought it appropriate to send him to Kashi for education. He decides to send his brother-in-law to Kashi with Amar. Amar walked towards Kashi with his maternal uncle. On the way, wherever he rested, he gave donations to the Brahmins. While walking, they reached a city. Where the wedding ceremony of a princess was taking place. The Bridegroom was Kana with one eye, this was hidden by the family of the groom from the royal family. He feared that if the king came to know about this, it would not be a marriage. Therefore, the groom's house requested Amar to become a groom of lies and he could not refuse his request. Thus Amar was married to that princess, but he did not want to deceive the princess. Therefore, he wrote down the entire truth of this development in the princess's chunari. When the princess read that message of Amar, she considered Amar as her husband and asked Kashi to wait until she returned. Amar and his maternal uncle proceeded towards Kashi.
The wheel of time moved forward. Then, Amard proceeded with religious practices. When Amar was only 12 years old, he was offering bel leaves to Bhole Baba in the Shiva temple. Along with this, there Yamraj came to take his life, before Lord Shiva was pleased with the devotion of Amar and gave him the boon of longevity. As a result, Yamraj had to return empty-handed. Later Amar returned home with his wife (princess) after receiving education from Kashi.
Kanwar Yatra
The journey of more than 100 kilometers is conducted during this auspicious month. In the annual yatra, saffron lovers roam separately for long periods of time to bring their Ganges water and take it to their homes to offer to the Shivling around them. With a small gathering, it has become one of the largest annual travel destinations in India.
Fasting and worship method
Fasting of the third day of Monday fast is celebrated with great noise.
Fasting should be done after doing daily activities in the morning. After this, one should worship Ganga water, Belpatra, Betel nut, Flower, Dhatura etc. Along with this, it is considered mandatory to listen to the fast story after worshiping Lord Shankar.
Chant Shiva Mantras. It is believed that by observing the fast of Shravan on Monday, all the fasts of the whole year will bear fruit.
After the third clock is over, the food should be eaten once.
One should sleep on the ground at night.
In this way, this fast should be observed from the first Monday to the last Monday of Sawan.
