Shani Amavasya is the day when amavasya falls on Saturday or shanivar. Some of the Hindu communities consider amavasya as an inauspicious event and if the amavasya falls on Saturday, it is considered even more inauspicious. Place it underyour Cot and bed on the side of head. In the early morning as you wake up before going through your morning chores look at your reflection in the oil and gift it either to a beggar or at any Shani temple. This is known as Chaya daan.
