Shahid Ganj Bhai Taru Singh
The Shahidi Asthan of Bhai Taru Singh Ji is situated in Naulakha Bazar, This Bazaar starts from the end of Landa Bazaar and runs upto Lahore Railway Station. Once you enter Naulakha Bazaar from Landa Bazaar there is a small door on the left hand side in between shops. The door carries this inscription: \"Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Bhai Taro Ji.\" Bhai Sahib used to look after his widowed mother, and his sister by sheer honest earning and helped the needy Sikhs as well. The rulers of the time always disliked these compassionate deeds of his. Under the offence, Bhai Sahib Ji was imprisoned, he was offered temptation and then tortured but he did not budge and remained steadfast. The Qazi passed a decree to scalp him alive. At the place, Bhai Taru Singh\'s scalp was removed with a hoe, but he kept repeating Waheguru and kept reciting the Jap ji Sahib. On 13th Asu, 1802 BK. (A.D. 1745) Bhai Taru left for his heavenly abode but as he had exclaimed, Zakaria Khan died earlier. The devotees got a Gurdwara built at this place. During the Sikh Raj, a big Jagir was granted to this Gurdwara. It was maintained by the Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee from 1927 to -1947. Evacuee Trust Board has taken over the charge now.
The devotees built his Shaheed Ganj at this site (place of martyrdom). There are many shops in the name of Gurdwara and an estate worth Rs 100 per annum is granted to it since the Sikh period.
