Gurudwara Thara Sahib (Khadoor Sahib)
Gurudwara Thara Sahib: The Third Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Amar Das Ji came to Khadoor Sahib in 1541. He served Second Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji with dedication for 12 long Years. He used to bring water from River Beas, which was around 9 Km away, on foot for Guru Angad Dev Ji to have bath. After performing his duties, Guru Amar Das Ji used to sit here for Naam Simran (Recitation of the name of God). He also received Tilak from the blessed hands of Baba Buddha Ji upon his appointment as Guru at this place.
After bringing water on foot with dedication from river Beas for the sacred bath of Guru Ji & after doing other duties assigned by Guru Angad Dev Ji, Guru Amar Das Ji, sitting on this holy place known as Thara Sahib, used to worship in spare time. Sikh Ajaib Ghar (Museum): Historical potraits, manuscripts, sacred orders of Guru's, historical coins, documents concerning the development of Gurmukhi script & other available material related to Guru Ji's life are kept in this museum. Baba Seva Singh played an important role in the restoration of spiritual significance of Khadur sahib. With his efforts and with the efforts of NRI Sikha a multi-media museum is being built here.
