Gauri Tritiya in the Year 2022 will be Celebrated on Monday, 04 April 2022.
Gauri Tritiya is an auspicious day dedicated to Goddess Parvati and is mainly observed in Maharashtra. It falls on the third day of the waxing phase of moon in Chaitra month (March – April) in a traditional Marathi Calendar. Gowri Tritiya is mainly observed by women. Gauri is another name of Goddess Parvati. There are numerous rituals and festivals associated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. In this particular observance, it is believed that Goddess Parvati returns to her parent’s home during the period. Another legend sites that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati got married on the day. Women conduct special pujas at home and invite neighbors, friends, and relatives to take part in the ritual. An image of Goddess Parvati is worshipped along with other deities. The prayers are for the wellbeing of the family. Unmarried women pray for good husbands. The observance is also known as Soubhagya Gauri Vratam in Telugu culture. Note: Kashmiri Pandits observe a Gauri Tritiya during the Shukla Paksha of Magh month.
गौरी तृतीया देवी माँ पार्वती को समर्पित अति शुभ पर्व है जो मुख्यतः महाराष्ट्र में मनाया जाता है। यह मराठी पंचांग के अनुसार चैत्र मास (मार्च-अप्रैल) के शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया तिथि को होता है। गौरी तृतीया मुख्यतः स्त्रियों द्वारा मनाया जाता है। गौरी माँ पार्वती का दूसरा नाम है। भगवान् शिव और माँ पार्वती से जुड़े अनेको उत्सव पर्व और त्यौहार है। इसमें यह मन जाता है कि इस समय माता पार्वती अपने मायके(माता पिता का घर) आ गयी थी। कुछ ज्ञानीयो का मानना है कि इस दिन भगवान् शिव और देवी पार्वती का विवाह हुआ था। स्त्रियाँ इस दिन घर पर विशेष पूजा रखती है और पडोसी मित्रो और रिश्तेदारों को रस्मो में भाग लेने के लिए बुलाती है। माता पार्वती के चित्र कि पूजा बाकी देवी-देवताओं के साथ कि जाती है। परिवार के मंगल और सुख समृद्धि की प्रार्थना की जाती है। अविवाहित लड़किया अच्छे वर के लिए प्रार्थना करती है। तेलगु सभ्यता में यह पर्व सौभाग्य गौरी व्रत के नाम से पालन किया जाता है।
