Most people don’t certainly know the true and accurate history of meditation.  Earlier in BCE, it was believed that this practice began its roots in India and developed to become an essential part of the basic structure of the Vedic or Hindu.
 
Later In the 4th to 6th centuries (Before Common Era), Meditation got emerged in different versions according to the Indian Buddhist rituals & the Chinese Taoist by some famous personalities such as Saint Augustine and Philo of Alexandria.
 
The origins of Meditation
The word ‘Meditation’ arose from the word ‘Medium' which has a Latin word meaning “to think seriously or to ponder. It is hard to describe the exact history of meditation mainly concerned with its beginning, but it was deeply assumed that this practice started to develop many thousand years ago or in BCE, earlier the beginning of contemporary culture. Many studies were conducted to discover the actual past experiences in meditation and they ended up with the distinct viewpoint of meditation from the other analyst. Is it something that related to deep thought? Or Mindfulness? Or can be defined as the chanting of mantras? What is it really about? Are there any types of meditation? Is there any connection to meditation in a particular tradition? These questions emerged with the rise of meditation in the early times.
 
The past of meditation is deep and glorious still, most people have forgotten that this practice is believed to be an essential and powerful ancient practice of meditation.
 
Some important points to know:
1. Accurate date of its birth is a mystery: 
When meditation first introduced? What was the correct date? These questions are still finding their answers. Yet it was assumed that this practice has taken birth before or in the 4th or 5th centuries (BCE). According to some ancient archaeologists, meditation was first introduced and adopted by hunter accumulators. Before exploring its roles and advantages, the originators and the observers gave their experience down from age to age, establishing the foundation for the past principles of meditation.
 
2. Meditation in Buddhism
This practice appeared to change in the time of Buddhism. The well-known symbol 'Buddha' amended lot correlated with the practice of meditation. 
The guidance of Buddha has been since 500BC, endlessly transforming the traditional path of meditation. Actually, the Buddha's teachings emerged meditation into everything we distinguish it now.
 
3. Emerged largely in the East for many years:

The history of meditation began to develop in the Western countries in the early and mid of the 1960s and 1970s, mostly among the heretics whose wide thinking stimulated to meet the innumerable gains of meditation. After then, meditation has maintained to develop, growing within its own, being accepted by numerous people and personalities throughout the world to achieve a number of objectives. Meditation continues to spread its wings worldwide not only as a spiritual practice but also as a natural and powerful method of healing of body mind and soul and is considering as one of the highly preventative means which helps to deliver a long-term mental, physical, spiritual and emotional well-being.
