Kajali Teej~कजली तीज in the year 2023 will be
Celebrated on Saturday, 02nd, September 2023
Kajali Teej is celebrated with immense devotion and love. It falls on the Krishna
Paksh Tritiiya, the third day of sawan or shravan -
the fifth month in Hindu Vikrami Samvat calendar. On the auspicious occasion
of Kajali Teej, women gather to sing songs in honor of Lord
Krishna and perform sacred pooja of neem tree.
Kajli Teej Celebrations
: Kajali Teej is celebrated with extreme gaiety and
enthusiasm by
women folk. Women and young girls wear new
clothes on Kajali Teej. On this day, swings are laid down in the garden and
ladies sing auspicious songs and dance with full enthusiasm. Some Kajali songs
are sung to welcome monsoon season while others
depict happiness and union of lovers.
There are some other songs which portray the pain of separation. On
the death of the most popular King Dadurai in
central India and the death of Rani Nagmati, the people of the state gave
define a new melody called Kajali to tribute to
their king, which got a lot of popularity, for its euphemism. These songs were
named as Kajali because of the beauty of the forest named
Kajali in the kingdom of Dadurai, and later these songs are known as Kajree.
The song to
be sung on
the day of Teej (third day of the full moon side of Savan-Bhadraprad, (August
- September) month of Hindi Vikrami Samvat calender are called Kajali or
Kajree. The tradition of singing of kajree songs for whole day is still alive
and living on the day of Kajali Teej.
Kajree
and Hammock - both looking like complements each other. In
Shravan, not only men and women, even God in the temple
is also swing. The crowd of devotees expects to
see this Hammock and they come to see the Lord
in the swing and start chanting kajali songs with tuneful
thoughts to show their love towards God by jumping and dancing.
Sitting on the Carousel in the month of Shravana in Mithila, the male and
female sing songs of Malhar. The songs singing by sitting on the carousel at
the occasion of Teej in Rajasthan also
come in the category of Kajali.
Festival of Kajali Teej is
also identified with blackish shades
of clouds which
cover the sky during the monsoon before raining down. On this day, there is a
community pooja of neem Tree . Women gather around the holy neem tree and
perform specific rituals. Celebrations
of Kajali Teej in Bundi, Rajasthan are
the most famous one. In Bundi, Kajali Teej is
celebrated enthusiastically and with the
enjoyment.
Here it is celebrated on the third day of the
month of Bhadraprad according to Hindu
Vikrami Samvat Calener.The festival of Kajali Teej starts with a procession of
Teej by placing statue of Goddess in a
decorated palanquin. The procession moves from the picturesque Naval
Sagar. It heads with bedecked elephants, camels, performers, musicians, folk
dancers and artists.
There
are stunning performances by artists and cultural performers specially organized
for the tourists who have come to see Kajali
Teej celebrations in Bundi.
Kajali
Teej in UP and Madhya Pradesh : Kajali Teej is also
celebrated with extreme verve in
parts of North and Central India also. Kajali Teej is celebrated in
different forms throughout the country but Kajali Teej of Mirzapur and Varanasi in
Uttar Pradesh has great popularity. It has
been said that Ramnagars Ramlila and Mirzapurs Kajri are
the best.
Women in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, especially in Varanasi and Mirzapur celebrate
Teej with enthusiasm. Rich folk heritage of these
states are brought to light with Kajali Teej celebrations. This is one among
the three important Teej festivals in a year. Kajali Teej is also known as Sathu
Teej and Badi Teej. Some Also
call it as Kajari Teej.

कजली तीज को बड़े ही भक्ति और प्यार से मनाया जाता है। यह हिंदू विक्रमी सम्वत कैलेंडर के अनुसार पांचवां महीना - सावन या श्रावण मास के कृष्ण पक्ष की तृत्या तिथि को कजली तीज के रूप में मनाया जाता है। कजली तीज के शुभ अवसर पर, महिलाएं भगवान कृष्ण के सम्मान में भजन, गीत गाती हैं और नीम के पेड़ की पवित्र पूजा करती हैं।
कजली तीज समारोह : कजली तीज महिलाओ द्वारा परम हर्ष और उत्साह के साथ मनाया जाता है। महिलाएं और युवतियां काजली तीज पर नए कपड़े पहनती हैं। इस दिन, बगीचों में झूले डाले जाते हैं और महिलाएं शुभ गीत गाते हुए पूर्ण उत्साह के साथ नृत्य करती हैं। कुछ काजली गीत मौसम में मानसून के स्वागत के लिए भी गाए जाते हैं जबकि अन्य गीत और भजन प्रभु प्रेमियों की खुशी और हर्ष का चित्रण करते हैं।
कुछ अन्य विशेष गीत भी होते है जो विरह वियोग को चित्रित करते हैं। मध्य भारत में सबसे लोकप्रिय राजा दादूराय की मृत्यु तथा रानी नागमती के सती हो जाने पर राज्य की शोकसंतप्त जनता ने अपनी वेदना की व्यंजना के लिए कजली नामक नए राग को जन्म दिया, जिसे आगे चलकर काफी लोकप्रियता हासिल हुई। दादूराय के राज्य में कजली नामक वन की खूबसूरती के कारण इन गीतों को कजली और आगे चल कर कजरी नाम दिया गया। सावन-भादों के शुक्लपक्ष की तीज के दिन, जिसे कजली तीज कहा जाता है, गाये जाने वाले गीत को कजली अथवा कजरी कहा गया। कजली तीज के दिन जी भर कर कजरी गाने-गवाने की परंपरा अब भी जीवित है।
कजरी और झूला - दोनों एक-दूसरे के पूरक-से लगते हैं। सावन में स्त्री-पुरुष को कौन कहे, मंदिर में भगवान को भी झूले में बिठाकार झुलाया जाता है। भक्तों की भीड़ इस झूलन को देखने के लिए उमड़ पड़ती है और वे झूले में झूलते भगवान के दर्शन कर उन्हें झूम-झूमकर मनभावनी कजरी सुनाते हैं। मिथिला में सावनी माह में हिंडोले पर बैठकर नर-नारी मल्हार के गीत गाते हैं। राजस्थान में तीज के अवसर पर गाये जाने वाले हिंडोले के गीत भी कजरी की ही कोटि में आते हैं।
काजली तीज का त्यौहार बादलों के काले रंग के लिए भी पहचाना जाता है जो बारिश से पहले मानसून के दौरान आकाश को ढक लेते हैं। इस दिन, नीम के पेड़ की एक सामुदायिक पूजा भी होती है। महिलाएं पवित्र नीम के पेड़ के चारों ओर एकत्रित होती हैं और विशिष्ट व्रत पूजन अनुष्ठान करती हैं। राजस्थान में बुंडी नामक स्थान पर काजली तीज का उत्सव सबसे प्रसिद्ध प्रकार से मनाया जाता है। बुंडी में, काजली तीज उत्साह और प्रसन्नता के साथ मनाया जाता है।
यहां पर यह हिंदू विक्रमी सम्वत पंचांग के अनुसार भादपद्र मास की त्रित्या को मनाया जाता है। काजली तीज का त्यौहार एक भव्यता से सजाए गए रथ में देवी की मूर्ति रख कर भक्तो के बड़ी सामूहिक यात्रा के साथ शुरू होता है। यह यात्रा सूंदर नौसेना सागर से चलती है। इस भव्य सांस्कृतिक और धार्मिक यात्रा में हाथी, ऊंट, कलाकार, संगीतकार, लोक नर्तकियों के द्वारा अत्यंत अद्भुद मनोहारी सुन्दर प्रदर्शन किये जाते है। बुंडी में काजली तेज समारोह देखने आने वाले पर्यटकों के लिए विशेष रूप से बहुत ही उत्कृष्ट अकल्पनीय सुन्दरतम सांस्कृतिक प्रदर्शन कलात्मक और अनुभवी सांस्कृतिक कलाकारों द्वारा किये जाते है।
उत्तर प्रदेश और मध्य प्रदेश में काजली तीज : काजली तीज को उत्तर और मध्य भारत के कुछ हिस्सों में भी बहुत हर्ष के साथ मनाया जाता है। यों तो कजली तीज लगभग पूरे देश में विभिन्न रूपों में मनाई जाती है लेकिन उत्तर प्रदेश के मिर्जापुर और वाराणसी की कजरी को काफी लोकप्रियता हासिल है। कहा भी गया है कि रामनगर की रामलीला और मिर्जापुर की कजरी सर्वश्रेष्ठ है।
मध्यप्रदेश और उत्तर प्रदेश में महिलाएं, विशेष रूप से वाराणसी और मिर्जापुर में उत्साह के साथ तीज मनाती हैं। इन राज्यों की भव्य परंपरागत लोक विरासत काजली तीज समारोहों के साथ प्रकाश में आती है। यह वर्ष में आने वाले तीन महत्वपूर्ण तीज त्यौहारों में से एक है। काजली तीज को साथू तीज और बडी तीज के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। कुछ इसे कजरी तीज कह कर भी उच्चारित करते हैं।
