Right to bear arms is the enumerated right that people have a personal right to own firearms for individual use and a collective right to bear arms. In our country this right was passed in 1931 , in Karachi, in the INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS as the resolution on FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS, among them , was a right to bear arms in accordance with regulations and reservations made in that behalf but due to circumstances under which INDIA gained independence and the prevailing volatile conditions (rioting after partition) , it was decided not to include the right to keep and bear arms as a fundamental right but to recognize as a legal right of every citizen.
The rigour of the Arms Act and the Rules there under continue to make it difficult for law abiding citizens to possess fire arms for SELF DEFENCE whereas terrorists , dacoit gangs and other anti-social or anti-national elements are using not only civilian weapons but also bombs, hand grenades,bren guns , revolvers, for perpetrating heinous crimes against society and the state. Not only this even mafia type gangs have established a reign of terror in many cities and violence, kidnapping and extortion are rampant. Some parts of the country are terrorist infested and even in other parts hoodlums with country made weapons are on rampage.
We can also state that when a man holds the gun, he almost becomes a god like suddenly, he has the ability to deal death and injury to another over a considerable distance to send, as it were a thunderbolt of Zeus. For some men, unquestionably, this power is going to be abused, just as men will always drive a fast car at reckless speeds.

These are just few examples which are being discussed, there are many more like this and not only the firearm accidents took place many people misuse this power as the gun culture is growing more and more of these incidents are taking place and people are abusing the rights and society is getting affected by it.
